About Me

Brown 05989border
Hey there!  Thanks so much for visiting my site!  My name is Colin Brown and I am a Veterinarian and Health, Fitness and Nutrition addict.  I have always been somewhat obsessed with working out and eating healthy.  I am far from perfect when it comes to clean eating – I do have quite the sweet tooth and love my cookies, baked goods, and bread – and I am hopelessly addicted to anything with peanut butter in it.  I love searching for and trying and sharing healthy treats and recipes.  Because after all, we should be able to enjoy life’s little pleasures and indulge once in a while.  I believe in moderation and cheat meals and I like to say that I eat 100% clean, 80% of the time. This allows me to enjoy the foods I like in moderation and still get the results I am after.

My education consists of a BSc degree in Biological Science and Nutrition and a DVM in Veterinary Medicine. After high school I wanted to be a personal fitness trainer so I took various courses and training but soon discovered it was hard to make a living as a personal trainer without a big name for yourself.  I have always been an Entrepreneur at heart and hummed and hawed about opening my own nutrition/fitness store but realized I was short on money to start my own business.  So I decided to head back to school, got my degree in Biological Science and Nutrition and then, like so many others, wondered what I should do with my degree.  So I decided to pursue my passion for helping animals through veterinary medicine.  Getting into school was tough but after a lot of volunteering and gathering veterinary experience I was accepted into vet school.  Up until this point I had kept up with my health and fitness and was still obsessed with being healthy and eating right.  But vet school is a very demanding schedule and slowly I started to lose my habits of eating right and staying healthy.  As I got busier and busier, I stopped going to the gym and stopped eating clean and healthy.  I had adopted the habits of a busy student and lost my obsession with health and fitness.  This did not make me happy but I was dedicated to putting all my time and effort into the veterinary profession.  I graduated vet school exhausted, out of shape and not happy with my health and fitness or my job.  I truly believe that life is too short to settle for anything less than exactly what you want out of your life.  And I believe that you need toIMG_5825border have the courage to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy.  So I quit my job.  I didn’t even think twice about it because I was unhappy.  And funny, that’s when I found Beachbody.  I saw an opportunity to get back into the best shape of my life, help others along the way, and earn an income doing so.  Perfect!  I was all in!

What has happened since then is the result of me going after exactly what I wanted and what made me happy.  I did not settle for something that did not make me happy.  Nothing changes if nothing changes, right?  I ended up getting in the best shape of my life, winning the Beachbody Challenge contest, growing my Beachbody business, starting another small veterinary business and I now work entirely from home with a lifestyle that I would never give up. I work for myself.  I make my own schedule and my own hours.  I can take vacations whenever I want.  Yes I work hard but I work hard for me – not anyone else.  And there is a big difference in designing your own life plans, or falling into someone else’s and working for them.  I have struggled to find my calling in life and I truly believe that some things happen for a reason.  When an opportunity is presented to you and it just feels right and you are passionate about it, then don’t let that slip away.

IMG_5661borderAnyway, on the lighter side of things, I have an amazing girlfriend, Bianca, and we have 5 cats and a dog!  If you haven’t guessed, Bianca is a veterinarian as well lol.  Throughout vet school I was affectionately known as the “crazy cat guy.” We are both very passionate about animal welfare and I have some big ideas that I am planning on setting into action in order to contribute in a bigger way to the welfare of animals.  Keep tuned for more info!

I am here to help in any way that I can so if you have any fitness or nutrition or veterinary questions or if you want to make a big change in your life then please feel free to send me a message any time.  I would love to chat with you and help you get started on your health journey.   I believe if you change your lifestyle then you will never have to diet again and a healthy lifestyle change can completely transform your life, not just on the outside. I’m a pretty normal and down to earth guy so don’t be afraid to send me an email and we can chat on the phone if you want.  Sometimes I feel that email and messaging is so impersonal these days.  I’m a real person and I’m here for you if you need my help.

Becoming a Coach in December 2013 is one of the best decisions I have ever made.  It has transformed my life and it has transformed me on the inside.  I have met some of the most amazing people and we are all working toward one common goal:  improving and developing our own lives and the lives of others.  I am always looking for people to join my team – I’d love to hear from you if you think you might be interested in joining my team!

  • Great story about you – and interesting we just happen to share an almost identical story – I’m also known as (an involuntary) “catman” for a few decades: been saving the lives and special care situations of the feline ‘family’ and just about any other pet relative that crosses my path :-))

    Would like to talk sometime
